Omg this is just amazing. Like those bombers (4 from what I can tell in this video?) are F@cking DONE. And this is just one of the bases hit, apparently. 
I mean on so many levels this was such a brilliantly conceived and executed and wildly successful operation; the destruction of billions of $ of air assets, which just happen to be irreplaceable, which also happen to be the launch platform for some of the worst terror weapons used against Ukraine's population, the operational and propaganda catastrophe for Russia (as others have pointed out they now will need to check every container coming across their borders)...

This is an amazing achievement, but damn.  If I was an American Airforce general today I’d be asking for hardened bunkers for *everything*.  The days of leaving anything parked on the tarmac are over.   If an enemy can destroy a multimillion dollar aircraft with drones launched by a truck *inside my territory*, then truly no airbase is safe.  

This is astonishing, but game changing too.

The next major conflict is going to be crazy.  You'll have a C-130 fly overhead and dump 20,000 drones out the back, and they will autonomously kill every vehicle and person in the theater of operations.

I’ve got a Matrice 4T. Out of the box the GPU on board can recognise people, cars &amp; boats. 1,000 targets per frame. 

Via their AI developer programme you can build a model to recognise anything (and bind this model to the drone). So you can recognise a kangaroo. Or a particular humans face. Or skin colour. At day or night. 

There are some guard rails for the moment but the capability to deploy a drone to attack a particular target in a certain vicinity without any RF connection or human controller interaction is already here. 

Targeted autonomous killing machines are already here my friends. 

And this is just the beginning

I’m retired Marine Corps and a combat vet with three deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Indirect  fire and IEDs were the threat and were unnerving for sure but the thought of drone warfare is just scary to me.
